Who, Page/Crowes To Co-Headline NYC Shows

As tipped by Pete Townshend in April, the Who and Jimmy Page and the Black
Crowes will co-headline a pair of shows at New York's Madison Square Garden
this fall. Exact dates for the shows are not set in stone, although a source
confirms the two heavyweight rock acts will appear together during the first
week of October. Details are expected to be firmed up soon, as tickets are
tentatively set to go on sale Aug. 6.

Although the two acts are concurrently touring the U.S. while sharing
staging and a production crew, they have been playing venues on subsequent
nights, never on the same bill. During a press conference to initially
announce the Who's summer tour, Townshend noted that the bands might play a
handful of gigs together, namely at Madison Square Garden in October.

Spokespersons for the Who and the Black Crowes had no comment about the New
York dates.

In other Who news, the band will make an animated appearance on the Nov. 5
season premiere of "The Simpsons." The 250th episode of the Fox series,
titled "A Tale Of Two Springfields," will include a rendering of Pete
Townshend, but not his voice, as that will be provided by the guitarist's
brother, Paul.
