re: Grateful Who !!

Hey guys:

I'm sitting here pondering my last thirty years (i turn 31 today)and
nearly wept at this thought:
A few years ago i was a music geek who's favorite band quit ten years
earlier. Luckily i saw the reunion "Tommy" show, and while even at the time
i admitted it was lame, at least i got to see them. i like alot of other
music, but music was dull without an active favorite band.
The last five years have seen more than i could've hoped for in Who
activity. Pete touring solo, with only one or two others onstage.
"Lifehouse" finally complete, and we get SIX discs of material! The Who
touring again, extensively. The Who doing "Quadrophenia", complete, onstage
all over the world. Remasters with bonus tracks for most of the Who albums.
The BBC Sessions released. Four disc "Avatar" set. Pete Townshend's
official website kicks ass. A new album in the works.
And what's more? i've found this list and made some great Who-fan
friends.
Thanks for sharing all the great music, stories and viewpoints, i am one
happy Who fan.

I could not agree more. Often times I feel like I must be losing my mind
because all I listen to is Who related music. I catch flack from my friends
who think I need help. But the fact of the matter is that I feel we all
relate to not only the music but the ideas and feeling that run through the
veins of this great band.

For example: I have a 12 cd changer in my car. I was visiting friends this
weekend and my cd cartridge was sitting on a table. My bud looked at the
cd's in it ( Who By Numbers, Lifehouse to Leeds , Who's Next, Quad, Empty
Glass, Rough Mix , Face Dances ).

He said and I quote," I've never seen anyone into one band as much as you
are into TheWho , You are one serious who fan, I wish I identified with a
band like that ".

Listen , I like the Beatles and The Stones as much as anyone else , but the
fact of the matter is THEY DON'T ROCK !!! No Jagger and Richards, No John
and Paul. Just Pete .( and JE too ). But Pete has more pure rock in Won't
Get Fooled than the Stones and Beatles have in their whole collection.

You guys are all great and I look forward to every message that comes across
the cable.

Long Live Rock !
