British Rock Symphony - US CD and TV special

I think this is news. If not, excuse me for taking up space.

from AllStar from CD Now:

The British Rock Symphony first made history as the only symphonic rock tour of
its kind when it first launched in 1998, performing the music of the Beatles,
Led Zeppelin, the Who, the Rolling Stones, and Pink Floyd. Now, coming off
another successful world tour, a studio album is due for release on Oct. 19 on
Point Music.

British Rock Symphony features some of rock's most illustrious rock artists
including the Animals' Eric Burdon, Alice Cooper, the Who's Roger Daltrey, Bad
Company's Paul Rodgers, Styx/Damn Yankees' Tommy Shaw, Heart's Ann Wilson,
virtuoso violinist Nigel Kennedy, and gospel singer Thelma Houston -- all backed
by a 60-piece orchestra, rock band, and gospel choir.

The 10-song CD includes Led Zeppelin's eight-minute opus, "Kashmir," sung by
Daltrey and Wilson, as well as Led Zeppelin's "Stairway to Heaven," belted by
Wilson.

Additionally, the Beatles' "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" finds Kennedy's
acoustic guitar replacing George Harrison's vocals, and his electric violin
solos replacing Eric Clapton's guitar. Rodgers and Wilson duet on "Norwegian
Wood;" Daltrey and Houston share vocals on "Let It Be;" and Rodgers works out on
the 10-minute "Peace Suite: Imagine, Penny Lane, Blackbird, Give Peace A Chance
and Come Together." Houston covers Pink Floyd's "Comfortably Numb," while Burdon
sings "Another Brick in the Wall (Part II)." Houston also lends her vocals on
the Rolling Stones' "Ruby Tuesday." The final track, the nine-minute
"Celebration Suite," is a medley consisting of the Stones' "Start Me Up,"the
Beatles' "A Hard Day's Night," The Who's "5:15," "See Me, Feel Me," and
"Listening to You" in their entireties -- all of which feature Cooper and Shaw
alternating leads. Famed artist Peter Max will design the album's front and
back covers.

The British Rock Symphony concert last June at the Royal Albert Hall in London
was filmed for television and can be seen on PBS stations starting in late
November, debuting on WLIW-TV in Long Island, N.Y.

The BRS tour resumes in March 2000. Billy Preston has already signed on for the
gig.
