re-Who's Last

Hi All,
I think everyone generally agrees about the poor
quality of this album. I'm not about to get into the subject
of roger's voice here, except to say that The long INACTIVE
periods that the Who did nothing, tours etc.before and after
Breakup probably did not help. I agree with Scott that
Roger and John would have loved to keep the band going, but
Pete, for a very long time has had this 'Uncertainty' of
regarding whether 'He's going to tour or not'.
Since the public feuding days of Pete and Roger in the 70's,
Pete has almost always had His way. People in and out of
The Who have often accused Keith of keeping the band on
Hold while the others were'raring' to go but Pete has to
take some of the blame too, Keith did not do it all.
Of course,Pete has had His problems with Drugs and Booze,
and Roger did say at that time that He would give up The WHO
if it meant good health for Pete, and an alive Pete, but
Pete's insecurity over the years did not help things.
The album, was most likely a record company 'JOB".Most record
companies eventually end up doing the same thing to most
artists,it's happened many times before, knowing the kind
of standards that Roger requires,He would not have allowed
this record to be put out if He had had any control over it.
I saw several concerts on that Farewell Tour in 82', they
were not ALL bad. I'd rather see The Who on a so called
b'bad night' than anyone else, There's no comparison.
Regards, Derick.
