RE: The Who Mailing List Digest V5 #5



Does anyone know why most or all of the re-released recordings of The
Who are just a little bit different than the originally released
versions?  For example, on the re-released Who's Next, there are a few
extra synthesizer bars at the beginning of the song.  On the new Live at
Leeds, Young Man Blues has a few extra bars in the middle of the song,
and on Thirty Years of Maximum R&B it has a few bars missing.  I know
the songs were remastered and/or remixed, but these are more than simple
mixing changes.  On the re-release of Who's Next, not one song is the
exact same playing time as the original.  What's the scoop?
