Re: BITTING THE BULLETT
Let me see, how did I discover the Who???
Well, when I was about 5 my mom was watching something about the WHO and
she called me into the TV room to see them destroy the set. That was my
first introduction to the WHO. Well, when I was about 10 she rented a
video of music videos from the 60s and I was absolutely fixated on John
and his bass playing. When I turned 16 I rented that movie repeatedly
and would just wait for John to play the bass solo in my generation. I
even bought "Who's Better, Who's Best" from a friend just so I could
hear that wonderful bass line. My mom always talked about this guy
Roger Daltrey. When I heard he was coming to Boston this summer I made
her buy tickets, I knew he was the lead singer to one of those bands
from the 60s that I liked. Well, we went, and I fell in love. When
Pete came to town a few weeks later my mom wouldn't let me go. So
saddly I became more of a Roger fan than a Who fan in general. But,
after I listened to enough WHO just to hear Roger's wonderful voice I
discovered that there was more to the band then Roger (and I
rediscovered John). I've loved the WHO ever since.
