RE: The Who Mailing List Digest V4 #267

As I recall, the issue of Pete's sexuality came up in the late '80s
when, as someone noted in an earlier posting, a quote from an interview
he had done became public. It was my recollection that the interview
was with John Peel, a BBC deejay. Peel either came out with a book or a
tape of interviews he had done over the years. I had the impression
that Pete's comments had been made several years before but not
previously released. Maybe one of the list readers in Great Britain can
confirm or debunk. Much as I personally might prefer to think of Pete
as a hetero intellectual guitar thug, I still remember Dennis Miller's
"fake news" on Saturday Night Live when he did a piece on it.
