Lyric from "Now And Then"

Ok...
When I saw Pete live in 1993, I remember when
he sang the line "I feel like a double head was
tossed" a few fans went "Whoo!!", as if they got
the meaning of that lyric, and took it as powerfull
in some way...

Of course, till this day, I have listened to that
particular cut alot of times and have tried my
best to come up with - well - what the hell it means..

Does anyone know? (An "english thing" ?)
