Andy!

Good question! It seems that Rog was a "closet" "TEDDY BOY", which a a sort
of Pre-MOD, MOD/PUNK. You know, the guys that wear leather (when that still
indicated being tough) or whatever, and beat up all the Nerds at school.

In Rog's case, his parents were at a complete loss. This was because to be a
proper "TEDDY BOY" you had to wear the right clothes, and ROG would leave
home, and return to the same, EVERYDAY, dressed right a right proper, young
gent off to school. 

So at first his parents were incredulous when he got bounced for being a
"TEDDY" and wearing "colors" to school. It turned out that ROG had a little
hide out in between home and school, and each day he'd change into his tough
guy outfit en-route to school after leaving home, and then re-change en-route
back.

ROG is really interesting in this regard, because unlike PETE and JOHN, who
were definately College "Upper middle class types", England being extremely
class-bound, especially then, ROG didn't make that particular grade, so
instead of College (Art school in Acton in PETE's case, John was..get
this...an IRS agent, and it means the same thing there as it does here!!) -
he was forced to go to a trade school, and when the guys got together, while
PETE was an "ar---tiste", and John a TAX-MAN, ROG was a "sheet-metal worker".

But then, in the early days, ROG was the only one of the guys who wouldn't do
all the "Leapers" (Speed) and other pills as did the other three -- an early
source of friction!!

(And that leads to the secret REAL reason for ther famous STUTTER in
MYmmymmmym Ggggeeeratttion - are you famaliar with it -- the real reason (or
meaning behind) the stutter?)?
