To further clarify and amplify what others on the list have already 
said, Pete was the only member of the Who to attend art school.  John 
apparently considered attending both art and music school, which may 
be what has some people confused, but he ended up choosing to get a 
job instead.

Oh, and Spinal Tap is at least as real of a band as the Monkees...
interpret that any way you like.
