        Ah, but do idols not seem larger than life even in the flesh?  At
Buffalo (my first Who concert) Pete could have been 10 feet tall, as far as
I knew.  He was THERE, and that was all that mattered.  I didn't really
worry about whether he was shorter or taller than my 5'8".  (I'd rather that
he be 10 feet tall - that way the nose doesn't seem so obvious!)
        Who knows?  Know anyone who can get close enough with a measuring
tape and say: "Mr. Entwistle, could you please stand perfectly straight for
just 30 seconds while I do this?  Sure, you can play you bass, that's fine.
Thanks very much, Mr. Entwistle.  I didn't think this would be a problem
since you're so still most of the time anyway."
