I find it interesting that the people whom saw Pete at the
Fillmore, are really taking offense to the alleged "behavior" of the NYC
audiences. I know I made some jokes about New Yorkers, (myself included,)
but I can assure everybody whom wasn't at the Supper Club, that the
audiences were fairly courteous, as far as I'm concerned. Even when Bob
Mould was on stage, from what I could hear, only one or two people out of a
thousand, was yelling and booing. However, this only happened during the
first show. Bob did hear someone shouting "get off the stage," or
something like that, and responded with something like, "fuck you, I've
been doing this before you were in diapers." It happened to be pretty
funny; Evidently, Bob Mould was not truly hurt by this, and made a joke
out of it. Besides a couple of people shouting rude things, mostly
everyone else was applauding, and having a good time. I'm sure when he was
in his punk band Husker Du, he heard even worse stuff coming from the
audience. The second Supper Club show was so mellow, I couldn't believe
it. I'm sure the Fillmore show had a "magical" feel to it, but I am also
confident in saying that the NYC shows were quite magical as well, and Pete
seemed to be very happy to be there too.
