I was a little surprised to see Paul's post--guess he's trying to prevent
another "Mr. T" flame war. Of course, Paul's right--this is a Who list. But
we all (at least those who post regularly) know how easy it is to start
following a new path. 'Tis far better to use that delete or page key than to
censor (others or oneself).
For anyone who may not have thought of this possibility:
You can continue to carry on a discussion about an off-topic subject (such as
the recent Whitewater/presidential politics thread), even within a group of
people through private e-mail. Just use that CC: box and everyone who's
indicated an interest in the discussion will receive a copy. (Most mail
programs let you save a group of addresses under a single group name, so you
don't have to type them in each time. And the group can be edited.) As
long as you use an individual's e-mail address instead of the list's, your
"discussion group" will all be able to keep up to date on the discussion
without it being posted to the list.
Just a suggestion.
