Blur, OO, etc.

I will give Blur an honest listen. If they've had anything on the local
alternative radio station, it hasn't struck me. But that don't mean nuthin'.

Oh, yes, said 16 year old aspiring drummer (he did have surprisingly good
chops), got a healthy dose of Black Sabbath last night, specifically Sweat
Leaf
and Children of the Grave.

I also told him about how young Moon was when he started, and played My
Generation the album to show how it was so. I told him about how he probably
got that way, having listend to Gene Krupa and other big-band stuff his
parents probably had from the war. How over there for a kid his age there
was probably not a lot to do, so since a very early age he was able to focus
his talents on drumming. I told him, too, that once he got into bands, and
if he was VERY good, girls would be throwing themselves at him, drugs would
be thrust (heh heh heh.... he said.. thrust...) upon him, and I deferred to
his godfather who was present, to give him whatever moral support would be
needed in such cases..... I also told him to talk his mother and godfather
to chip in on a set of Premier drums. Might as well get started on the
right foot, eh?
