I think you'd have to look at that in a finer sense. As a "group" of people
under a "banner", the Nazis and the communists (under Stalin) probably
"...killed more people..." Now you could argue that these people were
"Xtians" and add their stats into the fold, but unlike the Crusades, where
they were killing under the name of...

Then of course one could say, that more technology was in the hands of these
people during certain times of history and being human nature what it is...
