Re: The Who Digest Vol 3 Num 14

QUADROPHENIA a "poor" movie. I think that it is actually pretty good, tons
better than the film version of TOMMY (which actually isn't too hard).

I don't know why people keep on knocking the movie "Tommy", which, once
I got past Oliver Reed's vocal performance and Ann Margaret's vibrato (which,
due to her stunning looks rolling around the floor in a mess of Rex Beans
("...fit for a Queen!...) and melted chocolate, was pretty easy to do...),
I thought the movie was excellent. In it ya got shots of Pete, Keith and
John, Eric Clapton, Arthur Brown, and Roger bumping around all over the place
deaf, dumb and blind. Not to mention some interesting versions of songs from
"Tommy" (I still think "Sally Simpson" and "Sparks" from the movie are
great versions of those songs). (Ooops, forgot to mention Elton John's
"Pinball Wizard", which I thought was great.)

I mean, to each his/her own, but for a Who fan, I thought it was real
cool.
