I disagree with that statement. I think they care and probably a lot.
However, you kinda have to put in perspective how all this works. It's a lot
more complicated than you might think and more than overwhelming and
frustrating at times.

1) The "artists" don't always receive information directly from the fans.

2) If you get too much information from too many fans, you is essence have
"garbage".

Just look at some of the latest musings on the list. Sure, everyone wants
something "better", but we can all fight like hell as to the meaning of
"better". At some point, the people involved just have to say, <Riker> it and
do what THEY feel is best and will make the most people happy. Unfortunately,
in this case, I think they're making too many "educated" guesses and that's
where things fall through the cracks. They are aware of it, but somewhere it
comes back to "gee, White Fang said this, and so and so said that and..."
It's a problem. I know I could do a better job, if I wanted to make this a
full time job. However, I guarantee, there would be some people who would
still say, "I liked the original mix better, how could you do this!?!"
Personally, I would rework all the studio material to sound like "Live At
Leeds" as limitations allow. You or someone else may think that would sound
like <Picard> and around and around we go...

In other words... "Meet the new boss, same as the old boss..."
