Thanks, A. Yarlas, for setting me straight on who covered ISHST, but I think
my point is still well-taken: there`s nothing wrong with the people out
there who can sing well, entertain and have a healthy respect for their rock
forbears. In fact, it is this combination of talents, not always amounting
to true originality (much less genius), which keeps the rock scene going
from generation to generation. So by this definition, there`s no cause to
slag a Debbie Gibson. Some people would argue that, say, Bryan Adams is a
rock poseur: I happen to think he`s a solid, not great, rocker who puts on a
hell of a show. Roger Daltrey is an admirer of Adams and has worked with him
professionally. Roger has said, "He reminds me of me when I started". Enough
