Re: Magic Bus on CD...

----------------------- Begin Original Message ----------------------

I checked the 'Singles' CD, and, indeed, while the cover says 4:28, the
song goes for 3:17. It now makes me pretty sad that I sold that Who
Collection Disc 2 that I once had. I believe that that is the only CD
version (at least that I have heard) that contains the cool Magic Bus. I
remember that, the first time I heard it, I thought something was odd.

P.S. I am not enough of a fan of Magic Bus, though, to buy a whole CD
for an alternate version...

Lev and All,
Ahh, but I *AM* one of those completist sick-o types who would buy
a cd for 1 measly track!! Especially Magic Bus... I don't know why I like
that long "Meaty Beaty Big & Bouncy" version so much, but I do...especially
the way Townshend's voice starts wailing toward the end of the song....
if ya don't know what I mean, pull out the old vinyl record, and crank it
up... it really is a unique and magical Who studio moment! (imho).
Now, it appears we cleared up the Brou-ha-ha concerning the
"Who Singles" cd, thanks WFang and Lev and Joe.... but I MUST KNOW...
Does the above named "Who Collection Disc 2" REALLY have a long version
(Stereo or Mono...) ?? If it does, where would this be available?
(or WOULD it still be available...!!)
Whoever knows, I would be forever in your debt (and also really
apreciate it!) if you can inform me of this great mystery.

        Thanks again!!
