It's all that androgyny (sp.?) and shit.  Plus who cares?  It sounded great
(only to some, I will admit).  And to those who didn't like it, whose opinions
I value especially when they kind of analyze their feelings and make for some
very good postings, I wonder how many saw the original Who lineup live.  

I put the relative quality of any performance in that context.  It was the
real thing.  Anything else is just a nod to that former greatness, and should
be dealt with as such....   In other words, Linda Perry singing that, to me,
is the same as the Who singing their earlier stuff with the different 
drummer, adding the keyboards, changing the guitar sound all around, adding 
the extra guitar, all the brass, the backing singers, etc. etc. etc. etc.

Once you get off the main track I think anything is fair game... If it 
sounds good to the ear of a lot of beholders... I didn't know the
Linda Perry thing was played a lot on the air .  I only ever heard it once...
