Re: Rare Who R You Tracks ?

I can't believe there would be much to choose from for extra tracks of the
later Who albums. The few Marty mentioned is probably about it. The other
possibilities I could think of would be Entwistle compositions. He was
supposed to have submitted a large number of demos for Who Are You which were
leftovers from his aborted Science-Fiction Rock Opera (like Had Enough & 905)
but there's no telling if they were ever worked up by the band. Same goes
for It's Hard, while PT was drying out, the band were starting work on the
album with Andy Fairweater-Low on guitar. Presumably these would have been
Entwistle numbers, and Andy is credited on the album with guitar on It's Your
Turn.
The only extra tracks out so far haven't been that exciting though. The
alternate version of Guitar & Pen on the Gold Disk is only slightly
alternative. There is an alternate take of One Life's Enough on the Life
With The Moons boot, but I can't distinguish any differences from the legit
release. And It's In You from Face Dances is very, well, Face Dances if you
get my drift.
Speaking of Entwistle demos, are there any? With a hundred or so PT demos
out there I'm really dying to hear what John could put together. "No guitar
on this one, I'll just double track my 8-strings. Yeah, and here's a good
spot for a twenty minute bass solo."
Just saw the date announced for Ringo's All-Starrs in Detroit, July 10.
