been awhile...it was always my understanding that the drums on 'saturday
night's alright'  were indeed a program by jon astley.  i've always been
surprised by how good they sound!
i don't believe anything was ever done with simon on this.  it was done very
quickly (again surprising) and he wasn't available.    
i don't know about a bootleg of the german show,  but that tape has been in
circulation among tape traders since 1976.   that portion of the tour found
the set-list still being a little flexible.  something that was lost about a
week into the u.s. tour (about 3 weeks later) great show!
