You have to understand that MARK HEISLER, the LA Times columnist who scribed 
that article, is a big time Lakers h-o-m-e-r.  He treats the Lakers in 
general with kid gloves (as does virtually the entire LA media) and Jerry 
West walks on water, even though the Lakers are now in their 12th year 
without a title.

It's just fashionable to bash the C's in LA because negativity not only sells 
papers but it also temporarily diverts attention away from the Lakers' own 
shortcomings, which are starting to become magnified of late.
