Walker/Bird
Hi Michael
As I admitted to Mishra yesterday in a off-list e-mail, I regret posting
what I did about Bird and Walker and "free, white and 21". (Reason
being that many people on the list like Dorrine have posted very
calm/rational/compelling criticisms of Walker that, of course, have
ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with his mannerisms or race.) But I point out,
Michael, that Larry Bird's teamates in his first two seasons included
veteran pros (Maxwell, Carr, Ford) plus four Hall of Fame type-guys
(Tiny, Cowens, McHale, Parish). Not exactly Travis Knight and the Pips.
