The C's won't be better off either team-wise or salary-wise with Williams.
If you have followed his career, his durability has always been a question
mark, secondly he doesn't have scoring ability, unless it is put backs. Now
I know his FG stats etc, but don't forget he plays with Van Horn who is a
terrific outside shooter, which forces teams to cover Williams one on one
inside. Walker with Anderson at point and Pierce as an outside threat, will
enjoy that luxury for the first time, he has an opportunity to be
devastating.

Regarding salary cap, Walker contract kicks in next season while Jayson's
will be effective this season. Though the amount difference is quite
substatial (4-5 mill), cap wise it doesn't matter, we will be over the cap
either way. The one big negative with a long contract to Williams is that,
he is 30 years old now, a 7 year contract will have him pulling close to
21-23 mill dollar at the age of 37, a 5 year contract will.have him pulling
19-21 mill at the age of 35. I don't think, I like the scenario..I would
rather pay Walker that kind of money. - Mishra
