Here's an interesting quote from Ray Manzarek of The Doors, 
containing a Keith Moon reference, in which he bitches about the 
Oliver Stone movie:

"It's excessive.  Stone took all the drunken episodes & put 'em
back to back, losing Jim's grace, wit, spirituality & marvelous
compositional abilities.  Stone was hell for leather, the Diony-
sian craziness without the Apollonian side.  Problem is, rock &
roll artists work hard.  Keith Moon was a diligent craftsman."
