Re: phoenix disappointment - What I was/am looking for.....

But, at this point, all I'm hearing from abuse victims is anything but sympathy.
So, it would seem, unless I find otherwise, that victims, the very people Pete has been advocating for, firmly believe that Pete crossed the line and needs to understand their point of view.
This may sound very bad, but I think it's a planned strategy to yap about victimhood at every opportunity. It's a very in-your-face enforcement of political correctness. Notice how fast black Americans jumped on Trent Lott. Notice how ethnic groups sue when they're used as villians in a movie because this is an ethnic slur. It's a planned strategy to attack users at every opportunity in order to stop demand and thus damage the child porn business. It's useless, as far as I can see, but that's what it is.

What I can't fully escape, because I just can't understand at this point what this "research" was to accomplish, is that there was *perhaps* some sort of intellectual curiosity (which gets a bit slimy and icky and quite uncomfortable to think about) going on.
Do you think "A Different Bomb" sounds like intellectual curiousity? You can't take Pete's brain out of his head and turn it off, so the intellectual is always going to be there, looking out of one half of his brain. The other side was horrified.

If that is somehow even remotely the case, then is being put on a list of sex offenders really that far fetched? The judicial system in the UK, the US, and the victims don't seem to believe so.
I think Pete is harmless as far as molesting children goes, so listing him is of no practical value. However, it's the law, so there it is. The law doesn't apparently make any distinction about whether it's justified or not. However, the sexual offender list is supposed to be confidential, so this is another case of the press invading Pete's privacy.
