BJORN in the USA (reviews)

WHOOOOO-HOOOOO!!! I'm jet-lagged, but happy (very very happy). Just saw The Who
at the Hard Rock & Irvine... My reviews:

(BTW; can someone post this to the shout for me??? THANKS!)

VEGAS:
I got at there at the Hard Rock Hotel at about 3 PM a day before the show and
had to wait 'till 6 for my friend Jon Ehret to come over and check us in. So I
went to sit behind a slot machine right in front of the Joint. I put in the 4
or 5 quarters I had to spare and pulled out $250!!! Man, that machine went
crazy and I thought I broke it, so I almost ran away. :-) But this guy came
over and handed me the $250 cash. That was good ticket money... So I went to
the Hard Roch store and bought a whole lotta junk. And a really cool hard rock
cowboy hat I'm wearing every day now because it makes me look BAD-ASS!!! :-)
Another great buy was a Hard Rock neck chain (for keys and passes), to which I
attached a $2.50 Hard Rock baggage label, which to everybody looks like some
pass, so a lotta people thought I was working at the Hard Rock (even some
uniformed guys came up to me asking if I could page Bobby Pridden!).
So yeah, I had fun even the day before the show.
The day of the show I met the WHO crowd. The famous Trish was running around
the casino. Christian Miller from LA came by just to give me a ride from Vegas
to Irvine, and to meet up with people. He ended up with a ticket for the show
he thought he was gonna miss (expect nothing & recieve everything!).
Jennifer from Arkansas (from The Shout) was hanging out with us as well. Which
weas really cool. Nice to see the whole family again... McKendree, McMullans,
Eddie... And finally had the pleasure to meet Lauren. I really don't know what
the whole shit was about a while ago here on O&S between her & WF. All I can
say she's really cool and she's helping a lot of people out here. That's all I
can say. She's got her heart on the right place.
SHOWTIME: It was wierd... I was on like the 8th row in the smokey hole. I'm
sure other reviews have set lists and details, so I'm gonna give ya feelings I
had. It was a wierd show... I can't say I could really "enjoy" it. This was,
after all, the place where John (my hero) died. The Who looked pissed, upset,
angry... When you're seeing them, I think you really need that 1 show to get
over it. All I can say I was heartbroken and for most of the show couldn't help
thinking about John. Even though I did enjoy hearing some songs on their set
list I never heard before (Another Tricky Day, Sea & Sand), I was distracted. I
noticed that because I began feeling my back hurt and my throat hurt from the
smoke. Normally I don't give a flying fuck about that... It was emotional, it
was wierd... It was LAS VEGAS...
More thoughts: An adult entertainer comes with the suite. This is sin city!
Just see the Vegas phone book! It's friggin' HUGE! (all strip clubs and escort
services) There is no real surprise there was one in John's room. There are in
most rooms.

IRVINE: Fuckin' awesome... Met the same people again and Sean from SF! And
WhoBabe jumpin' around. Used my profits to get a 5th row ticket in the pit and
get Christian in (again, he wasn't planning on). This show is one of the best
I've ever seen. Sea & Sand gave me goose bumps. Zak did some groovy stuff and
loosened up some times and did like short solo's it seemed.
Goose bumps for most of the show.
BTW; Roger was pointing me out in Vegas & Irvine giving me the "tip my hat"
signal because of my bad-ass hat.

Gotta keep on moving, we're heading out soon for the Greek, will continue
later...

(was great hanging out with y'all! especially Jen, McMullans, McKendree!)

Long Live THE WHO!
