Entwistle Went with a Bang


The Who's Roger Daltrey is heartbroken over his friend
John Entwistle's death - but admits it's how he would
have wanted to go. Who bassist Entwistle died in a Las
Vegas hotel room last month aged just 57, and his
Tommy bandmate says he would have loved the drama.
Daltrey explains, "If John could have planned his
death, he would have written it almost the way it
happened. The only thing that would have been
different would be that he'd want his body to
mummified and replaced in the bed, the room filled
with his beloved fish and his guitars. He'd have
wanted a glass door to seal the room with a notice
saying Hard Rock Exhibit. It would have been the
Entwistle Suite - he'd have loved that. He always had
a glint of mischief in his eye and he loved fame. He
was the sort of bloke who would walk around in a
jacket with 'I'm The Famous John Entwistle from The
Who' in luminous letters on the back."
