It would be very easy if the guitarist played one note
at a time (someone posted that John did the other
voice, but as far as I know George play both. In fact
that kind of playing - with harmonized notes - was
common in jazz guitar playing, which was a great
influence on George, although he is no Tal Farlow).
But, to play two notes (I think it's a third interval)
is VERY difficult. Some people play that solo on a
maniac style, going through all the neck, while others
stay on a fixed region of the neck (that's what George
did).

That's a very erroneous notion. Some guys say that
study and technique makes the musician be less
creative. No musician will lose creativity if he, say,
study rhythmcs. The worse thing that may happen to him
is have his creativity unchanged.

What really happened is that his style wasn't
immitated so much, when compared to others (Peart, for
that matter. Every drummer I know can't sit on a
drummer's stool without playing the line from Tom
Sawyer).
