[O'Neal, Kevin W.] Wow, this hit me like a ton of bricks. It's
obvious, but I never thought about it. We will never hear Lifehouse the way
it was supposed to be. No Keith Moon. Period.
	Sobering thought.
I do think, however, that Pete has some unfinished business here. I
want to see Lifehouse by *The Who* in "rock opera format"!
Is that too much to ask?
*THAT* would be something that would sell.

[O'Neal, Kevin W.] Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't that like a
quarter of a century ago??

[O'Neal, Kevin W.] Don't you have something you should be doing,
like getting pregnant, getting barefoot, cooking in the kitchen? ;-)
Seriously though (before you come kill me:-) I don't see this.
Except in Rap (I like my homies, but where are my bitches) I can't think of
a rock songs that really is negative about women. Help me out here.
The Rap thing, well......I'm afraid my studies would tell me that is
a cultural reflection.
I wouldn't like any song that is globally derogatory, negative, or
"mean" toward any sex, race, age, religion, etc. Stereotypes have no place
in society.
The Who on the other hand spoke of teenage male angst toward women.
I always loved the lyric..."Why do the girls come on oh so cool, but when
you meet them everyone's a fool". I don't see this as being mean toward
women, rather just an expression of frustration.
It's tough growing up as a guy. How many times have you tried to
ask a girl out (ok guy) and be denied (not that I was ever denied mind you
;-) Plus, first guys are supposed to be "sensitive". Now we're too
sensitive. I give up!!!
I guess you're arguing that the record companies are responsible for
censoring women's music. That again would be a cultural reflection. Look
around you. We live in a very, very conservative country (If you live in a
big city, you need to go experience life outside metropolitan USA --- I'm
assuming you live in the US). Record companies are simply doing what they
*think* our society wants them to do.............to ensure sales. Be glad
you still don't have to cover your ankles (I'm glad ;-).
As the Beatles would say....."It's getting better all the time".
I for one love any woman artist who pushes this damn conservative
line for females. As Yogi Berra would say....Females who rock,......ROCK!
I like it even better when they go Punk.
I find nothing more attractive than a strong athletic woman, strong
of opinion, who get's off at a "punk" show or on angry music (or any music
for that matter). Throw in a pierced nose and eye brow, and a scowl, and
I'm hooked.
I'm definitely not your average member of society though.

	Stay in tune,
	Kevin in VT.
