Keith Moon

Finally got my copy of the Pete live CD this morning, and indeed I am mightily impressed by the brief chance I have had to listen to it so far. I am also very impressed by the service of amazon.com!

I have also been reading the Keith Moon dear boy autobiography, and having also just watched the kids are alright again, the whole thing struck me as so terribly sad. Before, having watched TKAA I always just thought it was Moon just having a bit of a laugh (e.g when he's with Ringo Starr), but the book just seems to show that all he ever did had to be a performance, no matter how down he really felt.

It also always makes me feel really sad whenever I see the pictures of Keith at the Paul McCartney Buddy Holly premiere- just the thought that he died the day after the pictures were taken. If only someone could truly have helped him! I always think that perhaps people should, and could, have made more of an effort.

But then, they're all ifs and buts, and it is just a shame that I never got to see the worlds greatest drummer before he died before my birth (strangely enough, exactly two years to the day after).

Anyway...
