Re: The Who Mailing List Digest V6 #283
Some general comments:
When you load Pete's page at www.petetownshend.co.uk
and you get a blue page, you should receive a prompt that you require
"shockwave" to view and interact with the web site. Follow the instructions
to download this free plug in. You might have to reboot your computer to
enable shockwave on your system.
If you need shockwave, do a search on the word, go to the appropriate web
site to download shockwave, and continue on. You also need to use Microsoft
Explorer 4.0 or higher, or Netscape Navigator 4.0 or higher to participate in
the chat rooms.
Re: not having seen the WHO live: The next best thing is to have your TV
integrated into your Dolby system. Sit about three feet from the system,
play "Kids are all right" or "30 yrs. Max" at the loudest possible volume on
your system. If your ears hurt at the loudest volume, use some tissue. DO
NOT TURN DOWN THE VOLUME!
I recommend "Baba O'" or "Won't get Fooled" from the "Kids" video, or "Young
Man Blues" from "30 yrs. Max", or "Isle of Wight."
Make sure there are only true Who fans sharing this with you. When you are
finished, peel yourself off the floor, and just keep petitioning Pete in his
chat room to tour this summer.
I'm a 48 year old father of two, and have been lucky enough to see the
Beatles, Stones, Kinks, Doors, Zepplin, and the Who live and in their prime.
I hope you get the opportunity to see them. My two teenagers want to see
them. Every other band live pales by comparison.
