That is the most absurd definition of an alcoholic I have ever seen.
There were instances referenced on the VH1 special that exemplified
alcoholism, but that was certainly not one of them.  Clowning around and
"acting like asses" is not called being an alcoholic, its called being
drunk.  Most alcoholics do not clown around much at all (Keith Moon aside).
Also, saying "Drinking and drugging to excess is a foolish thing to do"
sound like a its coming from a nun with a ruler in her hand.  The truth is,
many of the greatest musicians and writers throughout history have gained
creative incite through "drinking and drugging."  To some of these people,
it also led to their ultimate demise.  To others, it did not.  Since none
of us know what it is like to be in their shoes, calling such actions
foolish, shows an extreme lack of perspective and accuracy.
