Quad movie

I watched Quadrophenia on VH1 last night, and is it safe for me to assume
that the movie is just a scripted version of the events on the album? (Don't
slap me for this: but I'm like, the ONLY person in the universe that doesn't
own a Quadrophenia album, sorry) I did pay attention to the mini-interviews
during the show, and Pete did mention the changes in the ending. And if the
producer/director is going to change how the story ends, I was wondering if
other pieces of the story got jumbled in the making of the production. Also
isn't the part of the Ace Face bigger in the album? Because I was almost,
ALMOST, lost at that point in the Movie. First there's Sting dancing, then
Sting's in the riots, and then He's a bellhop. Hhmmmmm.
