Casting Moon...

Some suggestions have been made about casting for Mel's upcoming
pict. on Moon.  Ian Dury was mentioned, Robert Downey jr too.
Here's the dilemma... How do you cast an actor that doesn't
know how to play drums to portray Keith friggin Moon?  Actors
can have no prior experience playing guitar or bass  but they
can learn to fake it in a way that is often not too noticeable.
But drums are a different story.  If you can't play 'em, its gonna
take quite a while to even look somewhat reasonable on film.  Matt
Dillon's brother had to work his butt off to even come close to
approximating John Densmore in Oliver Stone's THE DOORS.  And 
Densmore is no Moon (not that the former isn't a fantastic musician
in his own right).

I think the producers, if they have any integrity (What, am I crazed?)
they need to find someone who can actually play.

Perhaps, however, they are gonna go the Forrest Gump route, and just
superimpose Mel Gibson's head on top of Moonie's body as Keith 
rocks out in Woodstock or someplace...
