Tommy remix

Sometimes it is interesting to obtain a perspective on one of the Who's
recent re-releases from someone who is knowledgeable about the Who and was
even a great fan, but who may not demonstrate the special devotion to the
band shown by the 50 or so (per WF, which seems about right) members of this
list who regularly contribute their thoughts on this matchless band. I have
a friend, who's not yet on-line, who at my urging bought the Tommy remix. He
said he wasn't expecting much, having been disappointed by other remixes
released in recent years, eg. by Led Zeppelin, but said he was absolutely
blown away by the depth and authority of this new version of Tommy. He also
said this version proves the absolute mastery by the Who of the concept
album format. I can only agree...Gary M.
