        Since I was there, I thought I would shed some light on what Pete was
referring to when he was talking about "Trumpet players who would do a solo
playing a single note for 5 & 1/2 mins" (paraphrasing, of course!)
        Before they began taping the show, the band played a few numbers.  
During the last tune, there was a trumpet solo, and the guy simply played one 
note ("pure and easy!") for maybe 3 or 4 mins without stopping or visibly 
breathing.  There is a trick to it, as Pete jokingly said on the show, but it 
is pretty amazing to see/hear it when it is happening.  Anyway, so now you    
know.
