Re: bootleg ratings

Allow me to moderate (me? moderate? ***k no!). First, I think Mr. Legalize
(forgot his name) has done a damnably admirable job of putting together a
bootleg list. I think everyone involved have listed the necessary items to
make a bootleg page worthwhile. Any difference between what he has and
what we need falls under the category "future improvements". So both sides
can go off and do a bit of homework to make his boot page the coolest,
heppest, and up-to date:

1) the Fill in the Form is a great idea. Implement it, and we should use
it or not complain.

2) Mr Legalize: specify about how long updates/requests will take to act
upon. That way we'll all know what to expect and when to expect it. Days,
weeks, months, years; whatever... We just need some expectation. Human and
all that.

3) Guys who have better boot collections than others could help out a bit
more. Maybe I do or don't like Mr. Fang's overall approach, but his
apparently large bootleg collection as well as his contacts out there
make him a valuable resource. Results speak for themselves, with little
further comment... I can put little
past him. He's done it and seen that. We need his help, then, from time
to time and ANYONE ELSE with like resources. So there's a bit of a weighting
function for contributors to help the bootleg page...

4) Including speed, overall sound quality (signal to noise ratio? I don't
know, but somehow we can agree upon a rating system. I heard all the excellent arguments to the contrary, but come on, they rate wine, movies, cars, and
condoms, so they can rate the audio (not artistic or performance) quality
of the bootlegs), board or audience tape, stereo or mono.

5) List all known cross-references for the same performance. Now this will
take a bit more work and will be a bit of a hassle, but VERY valuable.

In conclusion, hey, he's doin' it. I wouldn't take on such a task. I'm
damn glad he has! Thanks a million! And while you're at it, here are
a few new boots and some corrections I'd like to make to your list. Now, how
do I go about doing it?

Thanks

Jeff
