NYC Opener

Without trying to turn this into a Bob Mould list, let me just say that Bob
will be a fine opener, undeserving of tomotoes and the lot. After The Who,
Husker Du have been my biggest musical influence, and for similar reasons.
Mould's unique vocal phrasing and lyrical style (especially as played through
mid-era Husker Du) taps into many of the same youthful emotions and
experiences that one gets out of The Who. Bob Mould is as close as one gets
to a post-punk icon here in the States.

I've seen Bob play acoustic several times -- very intense, with a
Townshend-like strumming style and impassioned vocal delivery. I encourage
NYC ticket holders not to miss him. He's not Pete, but then no one is. Mould
was/is greatly influenced by Townshend, so I imagine this acoustic opener is
something of a dream-gig for him.
