The following letter was printed in the October 27, 1995 issue of Goldmine:

Who's Deaf?

        Without getting into what's
right/wrong about the latest Who reissue
CDs, I can't help but find it humorous that
virtually every response to criticism that
the producers of these discs can come up
with boils down to "Pete Townshend
approved these remasters."
        The single worst-pair of rock star ears
in the world, and I'm supposed to blindly
trust their judgement?
