whatever floats your boat.  could be bad install, one bad plug, bad O2
sensor....  Just wanted to add my experience.

Well... it's far from an urban legend.  I've been on the VWVortex forums for
years and I hear it every month.  Someone will ask what plugs to use, and
you get those who have had negative experiences when combining a VR6 and
Bosch Platinum +4's.  If you feel up to it, go on there and ask yourself.
I'm just trying to save someone the possible heartbreak of having a crappy
running VR6 due to some expensive plugs.

Go with something proven... get the OEM plugs/wires.

about 20,000 miles, 10,000 of those with a z-end s/c.  Have not pulled
them
to see if they are ugly, but no misfires or other codes.  Just my $0.02

I've been running those Beru Ultra-X 4's for a while, but changed to OEM
NGKs just recently.  My car actually runs noticably better now with the
same
wires.  I'm gonna stick with NGK's from here on (considering they are
much
cheaper than most other VR6 plugs).

I wouldn't recommend running Bosch Platinum +4's... I've heard too many
horror stories about VR6's rejecting them after a short amount of miles.
