Re: Blinking engine light?

When I bought my 96 GLX there was a cylinder 6 misfire stored that came back once after clearing my
codes; I tried a new coil pack, plugs, plug wires, and eventually the #6 injector. It seemed that
replacing the fuel injector fixed the problem, but I didn't have the opportunity to check whether
the misfire disappeared earlier.

Your dealership has a good point (I did NOT just say that...) in that the ignition coil is not
likely the problem, as they fire in pairs (1+6, 2+5, 3+4) and theoretically #6 shouldn't be able to
misfire without #1 going as well.

Best of luck diagnosing the problem, it's not easy :-)

Well, I just got back from the dealership...misifiring cyl. 6. The tech
said that since it was just 1 cyl. that he doubts it's the coilpack. They
cleared the code and we'll see if it comes back.

Thanks,
John
