Re: new member

No offense, but your flame:help ratio will be much better if you join a good GT newsgroup/mailing
list. That and our machines are MUCH different. Suspension, engine... two of the biggest topics.

As for chipping; the Garrett chip is a great chip for the money, but you have to make sure you're
running at least 91 if not 92-94 octane gas in it, and if you're a jobless student, that may not be
the best option, especially if you're a spirited driver like so many of us on the list :-)

The exhaust system is a worthwhile upgrade from what I've read, and is on my list, behind suspension
and a few other maintenance items. Check out www.tttuning.com for TechTonics exhaust systems,
www.newdimensions.com has some pricing and sells quite a few exhaust systems at decent pricing...
www.neuspeed.com for Neuspeed exhausts...

hi all,
i'm new to the news group. uumm, i'm kinda new at this news group
thing...i'm from toronto, Ontario and i have a 98 gt....no mods yet...i'm
still in school, jobless, should i mention...so far i've managed to save up
enough for an air filter. I blew all my money on an alpine deck..which i
must say, was worth it. But anyways, I guess what i'm looking at next is a
garret chip, then for an exhaust system. This is going to take me a long
while since money doesn't stay in my pocket...but i'm hoping to get it done.

p.s. sorry i don't have a glx, i know this is a glx newsgroup but...nobody
loves my gt....

Subject: DRL's

Mark,
I have a 97 and the first thing I did was disable the DRL's. Even though I
can't see them while driving, they annoy me to know that they're there.
It's extraordinarily simple. There is a single connector behind the fuse
panel. Disconnect it, that's it. You don't need to worry about electrical
tape, or anything. The A3's were not originally designed with DRL's, so
they were patched in after the original design. Therefore, they're not
hard to get rid of. I don't have the Bentley with me at work, so I can't
point you to the wires right now, but I can bring that in and send it along
later, if you'd like. The relay idea is cool, if you want them to turn on,
or you can just put a switch in between the two wires I mentioned, and then
they're off all the time, or on all the time. Whichever way you go, it's a
piece of cake.
