I've played with a WRX a couple of times, but never off the line.  Both
times on Rt. 128 in MA.  I always take it personally when someone flies
past me on the freeway, so I sped up to play.  Nothing major, just some
cruising at 90-100, but it was sure doing fine.  I will just catch up to
him, and then sort of stay there, as a reminder that I'm around.  So I
don't have a real feeling either way which one is going to be better at the
upper end.  BTW, do they make those in any color except the blue?  That's
all I've ever seen, both on the road and on the commercials.

The WRX wasn't as much fun to play with as the brand new 540i I encountered
a few weeks ago, though.  That was entertaining, although I have no
problems getting horse whipped by a car like that, especially when it comes
to top speed.
