My '95 GLX with manual transmission did this for a while in the summer. I changed the feul filter, then after an error code the mass air flow sensor. I do not know if all/some helped it, but thank god it has stopped. I have heard of it on other VR6'd, do I do not think it has anything to do with your auto trans. Sean DRVR FND
