Wheel bearings

Hi all,

I think that my car needs one (or two) new front wheel bearings. There's a
humming noise/slight vibration at speed coming from the front of the car,
that becomes slightly louder when I turn to the right.  I had the car
checked out when I purhased it, and they said that it was probably a wheel
bearing but they would have to do more investigation before they knew which
side.

The car is a '97 with 89,000 KM.

Do these symptoms sound like a bad bearing?  Is this something I should fix
right away, or can it wait a couple of weeks when I take it in to get new
brake pads?
