I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but in the end of last year the outer,
lower thingh bolster on my drivers seat ('95 GLX) got to be burning to the
touch. Shortly after, the seat stopped working all together. I have
replaced the heated seat switch and the relay under the drivers seat, and
it still does not work. The non-drivers side works fine. I dread having to
take the seat apart to replace the heater mat (it is one piece by the way,
not individual coils), but I really love my ass warmer!! I heard someone
say that it is common for the lower mat to go because a big wallet in your
back pocket can actually damage the heater mat over a long period of time.
I do not carry a thick wallet, but then again I only got the car with 60k
on it. If anyone has more info on a fix and/or mat replacement, please
share it.....
