1.8T Cabrio?

Hello again Folks,

What start this confusion regarding the New Cabrio is VW has renamed the
2000 New Cabrio GLS the GLX. The New Beetle crowd immediately figured
that this meant that it would come with the 1.8T engine ala the NB GLX.
They are wrong. The 2001 model lineup for the New Cabrio is the
following GL (same as this year), GLS (this years GL with the power
window package now standard), and the GLX (this years GLS with no
additional changes). The 2001 Cabrio GL/GLS's are being released next
week.

Regarding the 2001 GTIs. Both the GTI GLS 1.8T and the GTI GLX (VR6)
will come standard with the new "sport suspension". 17" Alloys will now
be an option on both cars.

The new colors will be: Green Collection Pearl, Murano Red Pearl (don't
ask me what a Murano is??), Storm Beige Metallic (similar to the Desert
Wind), Reflex silver (Silver Arrow), Tornado Red and Black.

Cosmic Green, Tropic Orange and Futura Yellow have been discontinued.

The 2001 GTI's are about 4 months away. The Golf/GTI production will be
switching to the new plant just finished in Brazil. The first
letter/number will change from a W to a 9 so the VIN will be 9VW instead
of WVW.

If anyone has specific questions about any of this please contact me off
list.

I've got a pretty good supply of GTI's including the discontinued colors
in the VR6 and leather 1.8Ts.
