directional signal weirdness

I am experiencing a problem that I have not read about on the list. This
morning I noticed that my left directional signal is flashing twice as fast
a my right signal. At first I thought that maybe one of the bulbs had burned
out but this is not the case, both front and back light and flash. I have
not had a chance to pull the bulbs, I just did a visual inspection. I have
not done any mods to the signals (like the flashing side marker). Does
anyone have any idea what might be causing this? Has anyone had this
problem? The car is still under warrantee, and I have not yet pulled the
flasher relay. It might be a while before I can get to the dealership, but
that would be my problem. What do you think?
